I’m a Cinematographer and Director Based in NYC and Sydney Australia

I create cinematic films, sometimes with a camera and sometimes with code.

I began my career on sets like Top of the Lake, Tracks, and HBO’s unfinished Lewis & Clark, assisting visionary filmmakers like Jane Campion, John Curran, and Gerard Lee, while learning from cinematographers I admire like Mandy Walker, Rob Hardy, and Adam Arkapaw.

Preparation is my super power and alongside my cinematography work,

I direct and build visuals with VantageStudios.ai an experimental production studio blending traditional filmmaking with emerging AI tools.

We use new technologies to expand the way we imagine, design, and deliver cinematic, emotional stories.

But my love for story started long before that.

My father grew up in Australia, far from his family, a Vietnamese refugee, he carried the weight of loss and the gift of imagination.  At night, he told us stories, of distant galaxies, forgotten lands, and strange, beautiful worlds that lived far beyond our own.

My mother, a Waldorf Steiner teacher, taught us through story, woven from myth, legend, and memory. She showed us that stories weren’t just things to learn, but ways to live, maps for meaning, tools for becoming.

I grew up wanting to tell stories that were visually powerful, meaningful, and full of surprise and wonder, just like the ones I was raised on.

That instinct still drives everything I do.

I create cinematic films, sometimes with a camera and sometimes with code.
